Sorry for grammar errors and bad vocab that may exist. Just wanna raise
my English up, hahaha. By the way, writing story in English, I should use past
tenses. But in this dumb story I use present tenses most. I’m
not good in using past tenses. #bow

Know that feeling when you’re moving out from your parent house because
you’ve finally get your own house? Me neither, haha! Or, I’ll feel it tomorrow.
I’ve worked so hard to buy this house, but in the end I still use my dad’s
money. Or maybe the correct phrase is ‘borrowing’.
I refused when Dad told me that he would bought me a house, since I
worked really hard just for it. I wanna buy it with all my own money, but Dad
humbly said,
“Just pay the house you want half of the price, then I’ll pay for the
other half. I’m not paying it for you. Just say that you borrow some money from
me. Give it back whenever you want. Use the rest of your money to buy some
furniture for the house,”
It still bother me, but in the end I accepted Dad’s sincere. Thanks, Dad.
I’m nothing without you. I’ll make sure I pay it back to you, soon.
“Brother, I’ve called Tari to join us tomorrow!”
There you go again, Pita, doing all she wants to me without even ask me. I won’t give her any respond, and keep my eyes focusing on the TV news.
“Your brother is extremely cold, no doubt about it!” Mom yells at Pita. She’s
implicitly yelled at me too, I know.
You two! Why don’t you just preparing for dinner quietly? Why are women
must be so noisy?!
“He’s still that icy even after telling us that he loves her, on his
graduation day,”
I reflexively give my anger look to the owner of that voice who sits
beside me. “Dad! Just watch the news, OK?!”
Suddenly, the three of them laugh at me out loud. No wonder. This
situation kinda makes me look like an idiot. Six months passed since my
graduation day, yet I haven’t reveal anything to Tari nor her brother and her
mom. Yeah, her brother. Her dad was passed away about 8 years ago, so she
doesn’t have any other male family guardian except her brother.
And yeah, because on my graduation day I was implicitly told my family
that she’s the person I love, I’ve getting bullied for the last six months. If
only I knew that it would turn like this, I would never ever ever told them! Just the
hell is going wrong with this family?! They absolutely are love to see me
embarassed. Geez!
Well, that’s that. My stupidity. I can only pretend that I don’t care
about every single word they said (just like I used to be), when my heart actually
beats faster than usual.
“Yuki, don’t you happy that tomorrow your future-wife-wannabe will come
to her future-house-wannabe?” spoke Mom, loud as always.
They’re all laughing again. Sigh. Do as you wish, people! The poor me
just can keep cool by watching news silently, pretending that I don’t care. And
thanks to them, I can’t deny the fact that I’m extremely happy to see her
tomorrow...

Come to think of it, I’ve just realized that I don’t have lot of things
to bring to my new house. It’s more than enough to rent just one pickup for
carrying them. Ah, never mind. I don’t like my house having lots of
disadvantageous things in it, anyway.
And yes, my sister really invites her. I mean, Tari. The five of us
heading to my new house riding Dad’s car. I don’t know why but... my Dad, he
makes me drive the car, while Mom and Pita makes Tari sits on the seat beside
me. And the three of them sit on the back.
For God’s sake, what are they scheming?! Argh, do as you wish!
Finally, on our way, I am the only one who remain silent. I’m not saying
anything unless someone in the car asks me, and my answers are always “yes”,
“no”, or “dunno”. I’m tired of this bullying thing. Ha-ha-ha.
On top of that, why does today she look... how should I put it? Cute, I
guess. I mean, Tari. I mean, she’s always look cute ever since I realized my
feelings for her. But today, her cuteness seems increase a lot to the very high
level I can’t explain. I mean, she is—
Wait.
Oh you, scumbag brain! Don’t dare to think any unnecessary things again!

The furniture is carried into the house by the carrier service boys, so
I just simply arrange to the position I wanna put those furniture on. The only
thing left to do is just rearrange my personal stuffs like clothes, books, and
other little things. I’m arranging all my clothes to the wardrobe in my
bedroom, and the other... dunno. They must be doing some help outside my
bedroom. I can hear Dad, Mom, and Pita’s voice outside from here.
My house might looks crowd today, but after this, everyone’s going home
and I’m gonna be all alone in this big house. It’s kinda sad, though. I’ll have
no one sits beside me to watch news together. I’ll have to cook by myself,
especially for fried banana I like the most. No one gonna angry and yell at me
about being cold-hearted to Tari...
“Hey, you stop all of a sudden. What are you wondering, Brother?”
I’ve just realized that Pita is beside me now, helping me arranging my
clothes.
“I’m not,” I answered. I continue arranging. “What’s Mom and Dad doing?”
“Mom’s arranging your stuffs, Dad’s doing some builder thing like...
drilling, I guess. Dunno,” she answered, and for a second she’s giggling. “Why?
Is that just some prologue question to ask about what Tari is doing right now?”
I stop again, because her evil smirk is somehow shaking me.
“Yeah,” I answered honestly.
She’s giggling again. At this rate she’s kinda look like The Joker from Batman
the Dark Knight.
“She’s making some foods and drinks in the kitchen. Oh, you must be
thirsty now, right? I know it. Hihihi!”
Hahaha, I lost. I’m surely tired for being dishonest, so I just gently
smile and mess her hair up with my palm. Seeing my unusual reaction, she’s suddenly
stop giggling and looking at my face as if she’s amazed.
“Yeah, this big brother is gonna find something to drink from the kitchen,”
* * *
It’s been five two minutes since I’m watching her from behind. She’s quickly peeling and cutting apples, before she’s finally finish it and want
to put a plate of them into refrigerator. She looks surprised when she finds me
lean on the wall besides the kitchen door.
Am I look like a stalker?
“Do you need something?” she asks me.
“Just some water,”
I move to the water dispenser besides the refrigerator and pour some cold
water into the glass in my hand, and then drink it. When I put that glass back,
she’s cutting some beans on the cutting board. I’m not going anywhere and just
watching her doing it, but maybe my glance makes her uncomfortable so she’s
start saying something to break the atmosphere.
“Yo-your house sure is big!”
I don’t know how to respond to that compliment, so I just...
“Thanks,”
... and I’m watching her cutting again! I’m truly the worst.
“Aren't you afraid living in this big house alone?” she asked again.
“If you mean lonely, yes I am,”
She’s chuckling, and my heart beat starts faster. Her chuckles is faaaarr
away cuter than Pita’s giggle.
“Why don’t you just marry her?”
I don’t undestand. “’her’ who?”
“The one you love. You’ve already introduced her to Uncle and Auntie,
right? Emm, I heard it from Pita,”
This time, I’m the one who chuckle. She has no idea that it’s actually her.
“Yeah, I did. Do you think I’m ready enough for marriage life?” I asked
for her opinion.
“Of course!” she answered quickly. “You have a job already, and your own
house, and a girl who you love and loved you, and Uncle and Auntie like her
very much. You’ve changed too, because of her,”
She says it without look at me even for a while.
“And why did you said that I’ve changed?”
“You may not know, but... I feel it,” she speaks it slowly. “At past, I
always had a feeling that... uhm... you were so indifferent and always ignored me.
Every time I came into your house to play with Pita, you just simply stared for
a second when I said hello. But lately, I feel like you’re become warmer.
You’re talk to me much... uhm... not really much, but much enough compared to
what you used to be before,”
I’m chuckling again. I can’t believe she said it so bluntly.
“Ahahaha. Am I?”
“Hehehe, see?” she chuckled too, and this time she looks into my eyes.
“You’re laughing. Speaking of which, you never laugh to me before,”
I stop chuckling and just gently smile. She’s back to the cutting board
and cuts some tomatoes.
“She must be pretty, smart, kind, and a warm person,”
Hearing that, I stop smiling all of a sudden. Ah, no. It’s not because of
what she just said. It’s because when she said it, she’s smiling painfully. She
can’t say anything else to break the atmosphere again. A big silence covers us
for a while. I only hear the sound of a knife hitting the cutting board.
I’m just saying this to correct her misunderstanding.
“No. She’s a shameful one,” and she glances to me. “She’s not pretty,
just a bit cute. She’s not even smart. She’s dumb. She’s act stupid from the
first time I know her. She’s so shy, but on top of that, she’s the only one who
still love me sincerely though I always make her cry because of my indifferent. And
yes, she’s a kind-hearted and very warm person,”
Some seconds passed after I finished my words, and we still look into
each other eyes. Our distance now is far enough but I still know that her
pupils get bigger. Judging from that round eyes, she is curious to death that
she wants to know who’s that person I talked about.
I’m smiling to her. Sorry, I can’t tell you yet. I said it because I just
don’t wanna see you down.
TING TONG...
The bells are ringing. I guess there must be some guests. What kind of
guest that come at the first day I moved here? Gotta check it—
And it’s answered when a little four-years-old girl suddenly come into
the kitchen and trying to hug me. I get down to take her in my arm and carry
her.
“Uncle Yuki! You’re so adorable! I love you and one day I wanna be your
wife!”
We’re laughing together. Aah, Lila is so cute when she said that she
wants to be my wife. I have no idea why she likes me that much. Maybe because
it’s just because I’m a bit... good-looking. Don’t laugh! I’m not narcissistic,
just trying to be realistic because girls often say that I’m good-looking.
“Your Papa is adorable, too,” I tell her and smile gently.
“Papa said he wanted to get married again, but he hasn’t found someone
yet. I don’t want a new Mama!” she’s yelling.
Her father is a young dentist (about 27 or 28, I guess) named Frasta. His
wife was passed away four years ago after Lila was born. I felt sorry when I
heard it. Now, the two of them living together across my new house, and of
course, they’re my neighbour now.
That puppy eyes again. I hate to see it from Lila’s cute eyes. I mess her
hair up with my palm as always, and say, “Your Papa will find a Mama you like,
so don’t be sad. Uncle Yuki wanna see your cute smile,”
As I wish, she’s smiling as bright as always. After that, she’s randomly
looking to the other side of kitchen and when she finds out Tari standing not
far from us, she...
“Miss Tari! Miss Tari, what are you doing here?!”
I, who don’t understand at all what is going on, remain silent and just
watching what will happen. Tari moves closer to us. Ehm, not to me, of course
she comes for Lila.
“I’m helping your Uncle Yuki today, he’s my friend,” she’s also smiling. Ugh,
I can’t bear it. She’s pretty cute. Anyway, the way she said that I’m her
friend sounds like I’m... friendzoned. “Lila is my student,” she explains to
me. No wonder, this is just as I thought.
“Miss Tari, I miss you!” Lila yells. She raises her right hand for Tari.
“I can’t wait ‘till Monday to show you this. I’ve made my own bracelet from
beads Papa bought for me. What do you think? Beautiful, right?”
“Ah,” Tari grabs Lila’s arm, suddenly, to take a closer look to the
bracelet. “It’s beautiful like you, Lila. Who taught you how to make this? Next
Monday would you teach me how to make it?”
“Papa did. I made this while Papa was working. OK, I’ll teach you, Miss
Tari, but you must not cry, because it’s not going to be easy. I made this one
after school ‘till evening, so you have to be patient like me,”
I intuitively laugh when I’m hearing Lila’s explanation. How hard it
would be, making a bracelet from beads and string? Hahaha, what a child! As I
laugh, Tari talks to Lila again.
“I’ll patiently learn it, but you have to teach me ‘till I make it
successfully like you. Promise?”
“Hehehe, I promise! Miss Tari you’re my favorite!”
What is wrong with me?
Tari, in my eyes, she shines bright like a star when talking to a
kindergarten student. This is the first time I see her interacts with a kid.
Yeah, the truth is I never visit the kindergarten she works in. But... she’s
just a adorable. No wonder Lila likes her so much. If she’s my wife, there’s
nothing to regret. She will sincerely taking care of our children, as a
mother...
Wait, scumbag brain! I’ve forbade you to think about embarrassing stuffs,
wasn’t I?!
“Lila, don’t be so noisy in other people house...”
For a second, I don’t know why, dr. Frasta who just came into the kitchen
suddenly stops yelling at Lila (softly, though, I can’t really say that he’s
yelling). Then, he puts the little food container in his hand on the table.
“I cooked some meals with Lila for lunch, but I saw you’re moving here
today. So I cooked more meals in case you don’t prepare anything to eat for
lunch,” he explains.
I’m smiling. Dr. Frasta sure is a care-to-each-other person, the really
opposite of me. “Thanks, Doc. I’ll pay something in return,”
He’s chuckling, and replies, “Just wash the food container and return it
to me is fine,”
“Papa, Papa!” Lila, who is still in my carry, suddenly shouts to dr.
Frasta. “It’s her, Miss Tari. I’ve talked to you about her, right? The
beautiful teacher who helped me on the first day I came to school, when I cried
a lot because all my friends ignored me,”
I see... so, Lila tells a lot about Tari to her father. No wonder, she’s
an amazing teacher, anyway. She smiles to dr. Frasta... very sweet. Wait. She
never smiles to me like that. She’s always too shy so that she can’t easily
smile to me. How come she smiles cutely to the person she’s just meet today?!
Is this my scumbag brain imaginations again?
“So, this Miss Tari,” dr. Frasta talks to... between Lila and Tari. The
next sentence is for Lila, for sure. “Papa knows her already. Miss Tari is one
of Papa’s patient in the hospital,”
HEH, WHAT?!
“HEH, WHAT?! Papa you never tell me!” Lila looks surprised. So, I’m not
the only one who surprisingly can’t believe that this coincide does exist. She
turns her eyes to Tari, and I’m just here, standing, carrying her, giving an
oh-you-know-him-already-but-i-dont-care-at-all glance to Tari just to keep my
cool. “Is that true, Miss Tari? You know Papa?”
Well, as I expected (but I really hope the opposite) Tari’s nodding. And
she’s still smiling, while my whole body somehow paralyzed.
“I’ve heard a lot of you from Lila,” this time, dr. Frasta speaks to
Tari. I. Must. Pretending. Don’t. Care! “I know that you’re a kindergarten
teacher, and Lila’s teacher named Tari, but it never cross into my mind that
it’s actually you,”
“Ahahaha, same here, Doc,” she answers. Hey, you don’t have to chuckle
with all your cuteness! “Lila told me that her Papa is a dentist, but she never
told me your name, so I don’t know that it’s actually you,”
“Hey, Papa!” Lila calls him, then dr. Frasta looks back to her.
“Why don’t you marry Miss Tari? If it’s Miss Tari, I really don’t mind having a
new Mama!”
THE HELL I’VE JUST HEARD—
“Lila, come on! We have to visit your Granny today,”
“But, Papa! I still wanna be with Uncle Yuki and Miss Tari!”
“You can come here tomorrow,”
Enough said!
To make it short, dr. Frasta and Lila are finally go home and I’m still
here, and I’m like... freezing to death. Trying to control my emotions is not
that easy. Furthermore, I can’t show this extremely high jealousy to Tari, so I
walk out from the kitchen, leaving her alone. I don’t even care about her
reactions towards those plain sentence that came out from a four years old kid.
This is the worst. For this whole time, I’ve made a very big mistake. I
may love that girl, but I don’t know anything about her. Until some minutes
ago, I always thought that I’m the only man who love her, but LOL! Even an
idiot will laugh out loud just by hearing my stupidity.
How come I be this naive? How come I be this arrogant? Seriously, for
this time being, what makes me think that such a nice, cute, sweet, and lovable
kindergarten teacher like her, would only be loved by me?
The one who shameful, dumb, and stupid wasn’t her.
It’s me, the most pathetic.

nb: I was laughing while typing that 'male family guardian' phrase. I mean, guardian?? I wanted to say 'wali keluarga' in English, but I don't know, so I checked at my dictionary and it says that 'wali' is 'guardian'. Plus, that 'fried banana' phrase refers to 'pisang goreng'. Sorry, my vocab limit. :p #bow
